Statement of Faith
Our Statement of Faith incorporates these Scriptural truths
SOLA SCRIPTURA - the scripture alone is our final authority in every area of life, because it is the Word of God;
SOLA CHRISTI - Christ alone, in his perfect life and atoning death in the sinner’s place, is the basis for our acceptance by God;
SOLA GRATIA - the grace of God alone in Christ, not works of human merit or effort, is how God saves sinners;
SOLA FIDE - faith alone is the means by which sinners receive or appropriate this grace of God; and
SOLI DEO GLORIA - to God alone be the glory for saving sinners and for everything else in this life and the life to come, eternal.
1. Only one God exists from everlasting to everlasting and expresses Himself as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. One God in three Persons.
2. God inspired men to write the Bible, revealing His plan and His love for us. Therefore, the Bible is the very words of God. All scripture is to be taken with a literal interpretation, unless the context of the scripture tells us to do otherwise.
3. God created us all in His image and deserves our love and obedience.
4. Through the decision of one man (Adam) death entered the world, separating us from God. Since then, we’re all born separated from God.
5. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin.
6. Only through putting faith in the shed blood, death and resurrection of one perfect man (Jesus Christ, God-the-Son) can we re-connect with God and be saved.
7. All we have to do to be saved, is to repent of our sins and believe in Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death, resurrection from the dead, and his ascension into Heaven, to be forgiven of all our wrongs and to spend eternity with God…or…we can choose not to except this free gift and spend an eternity in Hell.
8. If we accept this gift from God, His Holy Spirit will come and live in us, empowering us to live, love and help others know Him. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can truly overcome sin in our lives.
9. Jesus Christ will soon come again in the clouds, to be seen visibly by all who dwell on the earth. This event known as “the Second Coming” will come at the end of a literal 7 year tribulation period, in which all flesh shall be tested upon the earth. At His return, He will set up a literal 1000 year reign upon the earth. After this, Christ will create a new Heaven and a new Earth. There, all who have put their faith and trust in Christ will live, serving God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit for Eternity.
10. Prior to this 7 years of tribulation, Jesus Christ will call up his church (both those who already died and those who remain alive on the earth), in the twinkling of an eye. There, they will be with Christ (escaping this 7 year Tribulation) forever.
